Custom Order Frequently Asked Questions:

Do custom pieces cost more?

If the piece is something we have carried in the past, then no. If it’s a unique piece that you have created/found, then it requires significantly more work for our team, so therefore the cost is higher. While out carpenters are making the piece, you will receive photos of the progress and you have final approval before the piece is shipped to our shop.

How long does it take?

We are fortunate that our carpenters are very busy making furniture, typically the piece gets to our shop about 4-5 months after we begin production. We do our best to get your piece to you in the time period quoted, but the duration of the shipping time is out of our control. We will keep you updated on the progress the container with your piece is making and will notify you the day it arrives in our shop.

Can I get a quote for shipping a custom piece before I have it made?

Yes, if you know the exact dimensions of the piece you are interested in, we can give you both a quote on the price of making the piece as well as the cost of shipping it to the address you provide to us. All custom furniture is shipped to our store in Seattle but can then be shipped to you.

Can I return a custom piece?

A custom piece is customized for you and requires final approval before shipment, therefore it is not returnable.

What styles of pieces can your workshop make?

As you can see from the items below, our carpenters truly can create anything. We can modify dimensions on pieces we carry in our shop or create something unique you have in mind, that’s the beauty of Tirto custom furniture.

What are the steps of ordering a custom piece?

1) Once you know what piece you are interested in, please email the specific dimensions, type of wood, and finish (you can view samples of the different finishes here) to info@tirtofurniture.com. We recommend coming into the store to see the different wood and finish options.

2) You will receive back a quote on price and timing to produce such a piece, along with any questions that need to be clarified.

3) If you would like to move forward with production of the piece, we ask for 50% of the cost of the piece as a deposit.

4) You will receive photos of the piece in production, please do your best to respond to emails promptly, so that we can move the process forward as quickly as possible.

5)  Once the piece is completed, we will send you final photos to approve before the piece is loaded into our container and shipped to our Seattle store.

6)  We will notify you as soon as your piece arrives, and we ask that you pay off the balance and pick the piece up or arrange delivery.
